The massive Garibaldi glacier dwarfs travelers aboard an inflatable boat who have come to explore this region of Chilean Patagonia in the Alberto de Agostini National Park, where the Andes, the world’s longest continental mountain chain, meets the ocean. The Pew Charitable Trusts has partnered with Chilean nongovernmental organizations, universities, and governmental agencies to help preserve Patagonia’s remarkable natural resources.
Entre lengas, coigües y ñirres de la Reserva Nacional Magallanes, y bajo el incesante viento patagón, se oficializó a fines de enero de 2022 un inédito convenio de colaboración que busca que la protección efectiva de parques y reservas nacionales genere una mejor calidad de vida y mayores oportunidades de desarrollo para los habitantes de la Patagonia.
