Chris Arlene
PROFILE
Chris Arlene leads Pew’s policy team for the Philadelphia research and policy initiative. His work on government effectiveness ranges from implementing technical assistance agreements that support improving government programs and practices to collaborating with policymakers and civic partners on convenings that link Pew research to potential policy solutions.
Before joining Pew, Arlene founded a government performance consulting practice, served in the Office of the Superintendent at the School District of Philadelphia, and worked with the management and budget consulting group at PFM, where he supported economically challenged cities. He also serves as a civil affairs officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Arlene holds a bachelor’s degree in American studies from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s in public policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
