Johnny Briggs

PROFILE

Johnny Briggs leads Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy’s global efforts to improve marine conservation outcomes. Briggs has also worked to secure the legal designation of large, ecologically significant, and effective marine protected areas in the United Kingdom Overseas Territories, contributing to globally significant marine protections in the Pitcairn Islands, Ascension, Tristan da Cunha, and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.

Before joining Pew, Briggs worked for more than seven years on environmental policy and global advocacy projects at a consultancy in central London.

Briggs holds a master’s degree in global energy and climate change policy from SOAS University of London and a doctorate in climate science from the University of Nottingham.
