Pew works with philanthropists to make long-lasting, powerful, positive change—always based on solid research and tangible goals.

For 75 years, we have partnered to produce measurable results addressing the most pressing challenges of the day across the United States and around the world. Today, we work with individuals and foundation partners on a wide variety of conservation, public policy, and research initiatives—always focused on serving the public.

Approach

Our partnerships with philanthropists provide economies of scale and complementary expertise that enable us to act on ambitious challenges, design and implement solutions to structural problems, and build momentum for change. Whether advancing conservation, examining the impact of policies on taxpayers and communities, or providing information about relevant trends in society, we are stronger and more effective with partners at our side.

We welcome partnerships with individuals and institutions that share our commitment to serving the public. Here are some examples of our collaborative work.

Blue Nature Alliance is a global partnership founded and led by Conservation International, The Pew Charitable Trusts, The Global Environment Facility, Minderoo Foundation, and the Rob Walton Foundation that seeks to safeguard global ocean biodiversity, build resilience to climate change, promote human well-being, and enhance ecosystem connectivity and function.

The Election Trust Initiative works to strengthen the field of election administration and is guided by the principle that America’s election systems must be secure, transparent, accurate, and convenient. The initiative’s founding partners are The Klarman Family Foundation, the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, The Pew Charitable Trusts, and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, each of which has made a long-term commitment to support the initiative’s nonpartisan goals.

Enduring Earth is an ambitious collaboration that works with all stewards of the environment to accelerate and amplify conservation for a more sustainable, prosperous future for people and the planet. Enduring Earth is a collaboration among The Nature Conservancy, The Pew Charitable Trusts, World Wildlife Fund, and ZOMALAB—the family office of philanthropists Ben and Lucy Ana Walton.

The Pew Charitable Trusts’ evidence project works with funding organizations, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and others to transform how research and evidence are generated, valued, and used.

Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy is a partnership between The Pew Charitable Trusts and Dona Bertarelli. Building on more than a decade of work, the partners helped establish the first generation of marine protected areas, conserving more than 13 million square kilometers (5 million square miles) of ocean by collaborating with communities, national and local leaders, philanthropic partners, Indigenous groups, government officials, and scientists.
