Suzanne Little

PROFILE

Suzanne Little oversees land conservation in Alaska in partnership with Alaska Natives living in remote areas and communities across the state for Pew’s U.S. conservation project. The goal of her work is to ensure that local voices are represented and heard in land use issues, including policy debates relating to the conservation of Alaska’s rugged and pristine landscapes. Little is based in Anchorage, Alaska.

Before joining Pew, Little was engaged in policy development, land use planning, and nonprofit management. She also represented the Kenai Peninsula in the Alaska state Senate for one term. Little was voted the most effective new legislator and led the effort to rewrite Alaska’s Open Meetings Act, championing public involvement and local control for resource development. 

She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental planning and landscape architecture from the University of California, Davis.
