Research
The primary goal of my group is to characterize the various functions of the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway in regulating cellular processes. To do this, we use yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model eukaryotic cell. Our group conducts genetic experiments in biochemistry and molecular biology to identify the functions of different components of the ubiquitin proteasome system and to understand the molecular mechanisms involved in these processes. Currently, we are characterizing the role of different ubiquitin conjugated enzymes in response to stress caused by high concentrations of lithium.
