The Pew Charitable Trusts sent comments on Sept. 9 to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding the agency’s proposed payment policies in the 2025 physician fee schedule.
Among the recommendations, Pew encourages CMS to continue allowing beneficiaries to receive opioid use disorder treatment via telehealth; bolster screening and treatment for alcohol and other drug use; support clinicians’ use of evidence-based suicide interventions such as safety planning; and scale up data-sharing strategies to help clinicians and public health agencies better exchange information.
