The State of Housing in America

Rising rents and home prices as well as financing challenges and a limited housing supply are putting the American Dream of homeownership out of reach for many. A Pew Research Center survey found that 60% of Americans are concerned about the cost of housing, and rural and urban communities are struggling amid restrictive zoning policies, but there is bipartisan support for solutions. In this season of “After the Fact,” we speak with experts and policymakers who are trying to help more people find a place to call home.
