Josh Goodman
PROFILE
Josh Goodman helps lead research on fiscal management and long-term budget sustainability as part of Pew’s state fiscal health project. He has also served as a primary author for Pew studies that examine how states should evaluate tax incentives and maintain budget discipline when implementing those incentives. Goodman has testified before legislative committees in many states, including Alabama, Georgia, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington, as well as at the city councils of New York City and Philadelphia.
Goodman was previously a journalist, working as a staff writer for Stateline and covering state and local government for Governing magazine.
Goodman holds a bachelor’s degree in politics from the University of Virginia.
