PROFILE

Natacha Tullis leads Pew’s efforts to advance European Union legislation to curb microplastic pollution with Pew’s preventing ocean plastics project.

Before joining Pew, Tullis worked as an adviser in the European Parliament for two members in the parliamentary committees on fisheries (PECH) and environmental policies (ENVI), focusing on ocean governance, maritime affairs, the circular economy and biodiversity. She provided legal and political counselling and led legislative negotiations on behalf of her MEPs on fisheries partnership agreements, marine litter, and the protection of the Antarctic. Tullis has worked for the European Commission, within the Healthy Planet Directorate and the “healthy oceans and seas” unit, where she supported the research and development agenda for maritime policies. She also served as a consultant for public affairs firms, where she focused on analysing EU environmental policies.

Tullis holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Sorbonne University in Paris, a master’s degree in European affairs from Sciences Po Bordeaux and a specialized master’s degree in European political and governance studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
