Pew Supports Proposed Changes to Strengthen Public Health Data Exchange

Pew Supports Strengthening Public Health Data Exchange

On Sept. 30, The Pew Charitable Trusts sent comments to the assistant secretary for technology policy outlining steps the agency can take to strengthen data exchange between health care providers and public health agencies.

Specifically, Pew addressed updates to interoperability standards (concerning the exchange of health information between different systems) as well as revised and new certification criteria for health IT that supports public health data exchange and additional metrics to better understand the degree to which immunization data is being successfully reported.
