The Pew Charitable Trusts and several health groups and technology companies, including Apple, Microsoft, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the CARIN Alliance, sent a letter Jan. 30 to the heads of the Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of Management and Budget urging them to finalize proposed rules designed to improve the exchange of electronic medical records.
