The Pew Charitable Trusts filed the following letter with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Nov. 3, 2015, in response to the bureau’s request for comment on proposed Web-based quantitative testing of point-of-sale and ATM overdraft disclosure forms.
Pew has conducted extensive research on overdrafts, including surveys specifically targeting consumers who have overdrawn their accounts as a result of such transactions. In the letter, Pew expressed support for the CFPB’s efforts and offered several recommendations to enhance the quality of the testing.
