WASHINGTON—The Pew Charitable Trusts announced today that Matthew Milios will join the organization as vice president for communications, effective Jan. 16, 2024. Milios will lead digital strategy and content creation for the evidence-based nonprofit.
Milios comes to Pew with 25 years of experience in content production, with accomplishments in journalism, multimedia production, and other forms of storytelling.
“I’m excited to welcome Matthew to Pew’s in-house communications team,” said Nasserie Carew, Pew’s senior vice president for communications and chief communications officer. “His depth of experience and creativity will enable us to use evidence to connect more effectively to policymakers and the public.”

Milios has led creative projects at for-profit, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations. He started his career as a director of photography before working in video and multimedia production for NBC News Digital and Microsoft. Later, he was creative director for emerging media at Vulcan Productions, a film company focused on impact storytelling. More recently, Milios led Cause for Content, a strategy and storytelling consultancy.
Milios holds a Bachelor of Science in journalism from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Master of Arts in photojournalism from the University of Missouri.
