Leo Curran
PROFILE
Leo Curran oversees all Pew marine fellows program administration. Before joining Pew, Curran led the science, engineering, and technology program at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, where he coordinated project design, publications, and outreach on topics related to U.S. climate policy, artificial intelligence, mental health, and trust in science.
Previously, Curran served as a senior officer with the Pew marine fellows program, where he supported fellows in engaging with decision-makers to inform marine conservation and tracking and evaluating research use and impact. Curran has also managed fellowships and small grants for The Nature Conservancy and START International Inc.
Curran earned a bachelor’s degree with dual majors in communication and media studies and environmental studies from Macalester College. He also holds a master’s of science and doctorate in geography from The Pennsylvania State University.
