Pew Cautions Drug Import Bill Could Undermine Supply Chain Protections
The Pew Charitable Trusts sent a letter commenting on the Affordable and Safe Prescription Drug Importation Act (S. 469) introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on Feb. 28. Pew commended Sen. Sanders for his commitment to addressing the significant problem of increasing drug costs but raised concerns about the effect of importation on the pharmaceutical supply chain security provisions enacted in the bipartisan Drug Quality and Security Act of 2013.
