Photomosaic Created to Support Atlantic Bluefin Tuna

This summer, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Fisheries Service, or NOAA Fisheries, issued a proposed rule that could help stop the waste of Atlantic bluefin tuna on surface longline fishing gear. It's a step in the right direction, but changes are needed to more fully protect these fish. More than 7,000 engaged stakeholders submitted pictures of themselves to demonstrate their support for a strong rule and help create a bluefin tuna photomosaic.

Although we can't add any more images, there's still time to submit an official written comment and urge NOAA Fisheries to publish a strong, final rule that could put depleted Atlantic bluefin tuna on the road to recovery. The agency accepted comments through January 10, 2014. Please share this photomosaic with your friends and family and encourage them to help protect one of the most remarkable fish in the sea.
